Ages 2 1/2 to 5 years old can play and learn this summer at the Key Biscayne Community Church Day School Summer Camp.
The camp will be held weekdays from 9:30 a.m - 2:30 p.m. Session A will be from June 28 - July 16, while session B will be from July 26 - Aug. 13. "This is still going to be educational," said Heather Trojan, camp and day school director. "There is still structure to the program. However, the atmosphere will be more relaxed. We want there to be a program for parents who want something more for their childrens' summer than just spending the day around the house."
Trojan said the day school's camp is not day care or babysitting for campers.
"Their day will be filled with scheduled
events so that children will be continually engaged," she explained, adding
that her staff has been busy planning special activities for the camp.
"Their minds should still be active even
though it's summer."
In addition to the day school camp for younger children, girls ages 6-12 can attend Key Kidz Camp from 9-30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. weekdays during the same three-week sessions as the Day School Camp. Valerie Nunez, Alison Tobin and Vivian Macia will lead activities including dance, arts and crafts, music, tap dance and make-up parties. Cost is $375 per session, or $130 per week.
