Columbus Day Regatta- Elliot Key, Florida

Once again, the Columbus Day Regatta off of Elliott Key ( just 17 miles South of Key Biscayne) was mostly party, oh yeah, with some type of sailboat race or something...
Honestly, the sailboat regatta goes all over the place and the party simply stays here.  For 3 - 4 days. And nights.
Clothing is mostly optional and often used to hide a hideous sun burn on parts of the body that would really hurt.
People gather, people talk, people dance, people swim, people overload boats, people eat, people drink, people get sunburned on boats of all shapes and sizes.
For some reason that has yet to be figured out, a disproportionate amount of regular looking people see this event as an opportunity to entirely lose their minds and discard clothing that would be appropriate in most cases that we have observed.
Coast Guard, Police, D.E.R.M, National Parks Service, and every other agency that could have an excuse to show up did, and in big numbers.  The picture to the right is a picture of the police officer on the stern of the vessel, taking pictures.
Just a public service reminder to tan
safely.  Oh my.
Truly it was good to have such an 'official presence' due to the fact that there is miles and miles of boats.
Oh yeah, medics were also on hand.
