Sun burns are all over the place.
Proof positive that Adult beverages
and tanning do not mix.
Over the miles and miles of boats
tied up to each other in small pockets
are groups of friends, some new, and some that have known each other for
years. Each of these small pockets expand into larger and larger
groups that make up the vast array of
vessels that dot the Biscayne Bay.

People find small and intimate spots
to share the moment as well as those who prefer a mass gathering.

Big boats, little boats, sail boats, tenders,
inflatables, row boats, and every other conceivable item that floats you
should be able to find represented here complete with people enjoying them.
At least for this day.

Come the end of the Columbus Day Sailing
Regatta, and as the sun sets on the party that has now gone on for over
three days, people find space to reflect on the natural beauty of everything
winding down. Hundreds of vessels will stay yet another night, but
by this time there is a common still that seems to fall as the sun sets.
The music stops, you can hear the water lapping the breeze blowing, and
at once, nature takes center stage with a gentle, awesome close.
