Continuous tours of the lighthouse March 7 from the Dade Heritage Trust

| Sunday, March 7th, 2005, the Cape
Florida Lighthouse and the grounds in Bill Baggs Cape Florida State
Park will be opened for continuous tours from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM as part
of the Dade Heritage Days. The Dade Heritage Days is an eight week
long celebration of the cultural, architectural, and environmental heritage
of Miami Dade County. After paying the Park entrance fee, the tours
are absolutely free to the public. The Boater's Grill (located
on "No
Name Harbor") will be offering traditional seafood chowder from noon
to 2 p.m. as a part of the Dade Heritage Days celebration and is located
just west of the lighthouse grounds. For further information on these
lighthouse tours and the traditional seafood chowder, you can call the
state park directly at 305-361-5811. The hours of the park are from sunrise
until sunset 7 days a week.
Dade Heritage Days is sponsored by the Dade Heritage Trust (DHT), the community's largest non-profit historic preservation organization. DHT's mission is to preserve the community's heritage through education, advocacy and restoration projects.
