Nasdaq 100 fountain at the entrance to the tennis tournament

Follow the traffic onto Key Biscayne and enjoy the sounds of bikes riding past you as you get closer to the fountain that marks the entrance to the Nasdaq 100 Tennis Tournament where the top tennis professionals in the world will play for the Grand Prize and join the names of those who have won the tournament over the past 20 years.

The traffic over the weekend backed up the entire length of Key Biscayne as you can see in the top left picture of cars in front of the Ocean Club, and the picture on the right is coming onto Key Biscayne during the Nasdaq 100. The moral of the story? When the tournament is in town, walking just may be the quickest way to get around if you do not have a bike or access to one. It may also be a good time to meet your neighbors.

In between looking for an available seat once inside, you can climb the climbing rock by the inflatible cruise ship which will of course work up a big appetite. Hope you have your wallet ready, so on the way to the food court, there are a number of kiosk bars conveniently located along the paths that will lead you anywhere. An adult beverage or two will take the edge off the idea of a mortgage on your home to afford to eat, get a couple of T-Shirts, and look at all of the other people pretending not to be shocked. These are the same people looking at the sticker prices of the Mercedes Benz with a bag filled with free brochures talking on a 3 year old cell phone.

Sensing that it is a long walk after lunch back to the stadium, many just stop here for awhile and watch the Nasdaq 100 tennis tournament on the big screen televisions located around the food courts. The best part is knowing that the point is over by the applause coming from the stadium just prior to seeing it on the television. The Nasdaq 100 tennis tournament has about a 5 second satellite delay.

After deciding that it was time to walk back to the stadium and that we did not come here to watch the tournament on television, we decide that the food concession on the left has better food than we just ate so we stop along the way for desert. We finally make it back to the center court and look back on all of the fun that we had getting there.
