The Key Biscayne Yacht Club was virtually
empty with the exception of the
occasional passing unoccupied vessel being
blown into the mangroves.
A feeder band from Hurricane Frances on
its way to Key Biscayne.
The K.B.Y.C. , empty.
Another fun sight was human nature at work.
One person sees a hurricane,
another sees a perfect day to windsurf
at breath taking speeds.
A close inspection reveals that more water
was blowing OUT of the fountain
basin than INTO it. Moments later,
Armando Nunez, Key Biscayne's
Public Works King for life turned the
fountain off.
The best was watching people stop at a
red light on Crandon when they
were the ONLY car on the road for miles.
Another was to watch the water
sprinklers go on in torrential downpours
of rain with the streets flooding.
Our village government at work...
For anyone interested, our tax dollars
paid for the village council and their
families and several key village employees
to stay at the Sonesta in Coconut
Grove. Doesn't that make you just
want to stand up and sit back down and shut up?
I thought so. That is WHY they get to
do this.. Hope you enjoyed your tax bill.
Moving along........here is the fountain
picture.
Waterfront homes enjoy spectacular views.
Some get more waterfront than others.
Another picture during the hardest hitting
time was a picture of spray on
the lense. Oh well. Glad that
is all over.
