and television to watch a homemade video of someone's vacation, in Spanish, until late at night on an otherwise perfect, quiet, full moon rising over the Atlantic Ocean night. Thankfully our friend who works for the National Park Service was kind enough to show up in the A.M. and have them remove these items plus their dog (not allowed on Boca Chita), and hand them a couple of nice big fat tickets for mooring up two boats in the mangroves, one for the dog on the island (which they had to IMMEDIATELY remove) and a warning about having the generator on the island that sounded like it had no muffler. There was plenty of places they could have pitched tent on the island. When they first arrived and blocked our view, they insisted they were not staying there, but they did, and camped out. We asked them to move. They did not. Please notice how close they are to our barbeque (located on the bottom right of photo). They broke nearly every rule for camping at Boca Chita inluding running the generator and excessive noise after 10 P.M.. This year, the prize for the most rude campers of the year award was to fill their campsite with a constant stream of the distinct aroma of our midnight BBQ, palm frond and fish smoke extravaganza. Can you believe it? They actually complained to the Park official about the smoke? Some people just can't take a joke. |

Boca Chita, is also known as Boca
Chica which is Spanish for 'girls mouth' and nobody seems to know what
Boca Chita means though we have heard that Chita is some type of Monkey.
We are not going to argue or specualate why is is called Monkeys Mouth.
Boca Chica is probably the proper name that was simply misspelled over
the years but we are not going to bet on it.
