 Key Biscayne Smuggler's Cove
Looking directly at the Casa del Mar, the tallest building on Key Biscayne, between the two coconut palms located on the water's edge at "Smuggler's Cove" located at the eastern point of South Mashta Island which is considered part of Key Biscayne yet is actually adjoined by a small bridge to Key Biscayne over a canal, and at the end of pines canal.  After the Casa del Mar was built, the residents of Key Biscayne banded together to put a stop to buildings being built so high on the island, so it will remain the tallest building on Key Biscayne.  Smuggler's Cove is so named as it is a cove that is hidden from view from the channel of water that leads from Biscayne Bay to the Atlantic Ocean and it is said that during the days that Blackbeard and other vicious pirates roamed these waters, they could easily hide from authorities here if being chased.  It was also a place to await prey on the high seas.  From the land, the vantage point would allow a lookout to find treasure ships at sea that would be unable to see the pirate ship waiting, well hidden.
