Right next door to Mr. Sandbarman's boat was this lovely group.
The best part of this picture is that the anchor line is still tight and secured. As if the boat is going to go anywhere.
Yes, only thirty feet away from our "Hard Aground" Award are the runner ups shown above.
Their neighbors are shown below. The boat below is also truly hard aground but since it
has a jet drive, it was able to be pushed off of the sandbar about 2 hours before the tide was high
enough for our friends shown above. They did however make good use of their beach chairs and
I believe the captain has the people on board convinced that he meant to ground the boat so that he could see what the
bottom of his boat looks like without a trailer. Our friends below just passed the hours getting to know each other better.
It is always a good rule to remember that
the ocean is like a lake only because both bodies of water are wet.
Outside of that, oceans have these things
called tides. They happen a couple of times per 24 hour period.
It is a long, long time to wait if you
have to be somewhere else or forgot the
toilet paper. It is also the best way to know where NOT to anchor
next time.
