Crandon Marina on Key Biscayne
A view to the east from the beach at Crandon
Park Marina. Straight behind the mangroves straight ahead are the
Links of Key Biscayne (one of the top
rated public golf courses in the United States), and to the left of the
mangroves
straight ahead are the boat ramps.
Don't try taking your vessel too close to the mangroves or the golf course
as the water is very very shallow.
As you can see from the vantage point of this picture the nearly straight
off drop
in the water. If one was to walk
into the water here, the first step one would be in ankle deep water, the
second
step, knee deep water, third step, waist
deep, fourth step, shoulder level, fifth step and it would be over the
average person's head. The water
depth off shore here for the channel runs between 12 and 18 feet deep.
