While enjoying the waterways around Key
Biscayne, over on Pines Canal, Mike Shanley of BoatNationUSA
noticed and photographed
one of our tropical native residents taking
advantage of modern technology (in crocodile terms) by sunning itself on
a conveniently
located floating work platform.
A year or two ago the crocodile was only occassionally seen by residents
in the canals, and now
it looks like it has officially moved
into the waterways of Key Biscayne. Special thanks to Mike
for these pictures.
After an afternoon of rest and sunning
on the plywood and styrofoam work platform, the crocodile thinks about
how much better
laying on a nice warm piece of plywood
feels as compared to the sandy beds of the mangroves. Evolution at
its finest moment.
