right side of the picture. The brown color is the "flats" that the blue/green channel cuts through to the Atlantic Ocean on the horizon. As one can see, there are swirls and lines cut through the grass flats in the middle of the photograph where boaters have left propeller trenches because they have miscalculated the channel. This channel is one of several "finger channels" that feed Biscayne Bay from the Atlantic Ocean during tide changes and the current can be very extreme at certain times. |
