Sonesta Beach Hotel and Villas
closed... Key Biscayne faces accommodation shortage
Thinking about staying
on the Key this winter?
RESERVE NOW!!!
Condominiums - Homes - First Class Studios
You cannot say that you have not been warned.
The Sonesta Beach Hotel which has been a Key Biscayne fixture since
1969 and has catered to thousands of tourists
daily. These same people who have come to know and love Key Biscayne
are
still coming back this winter since Key
Biscayne is such a desirable tropical destination and quite frankly there
is not enough
room for everyone who wants to come back.
We have the Silver
Sands Hotel and the Ritz
Carlton Resort on Key Biscayne.
If you want to stay in a Hotel, those
are your choices. The Ritz
Carlton has every creature comfort where the Silver Sands
never did re-build their resturant, so
bear in mind that staying there will mean just a place to lay your head
at day's end.
Thankfully there are a number of privately
owned condominiums, privately
owned suites at the Ritz Carlton, and privately
owned
homes on Key Biscayne that are, as would be expected, filling up
for this season very very quickly, but offer a
fine alternative to sold out Hotels.
A most fine alternative to nothing at all, but again, be warned,
according to
the reservations manager at Key
Life Realty ( the leading Real Estate Brokerage for vacation management
of properties
here on Key Biscayne) every unit from
the smallest 1/1 units to the 6 bedroom luxury accommodations
are booking further in advance and at
a more rapid pace than in years past.
This is the first year in Key Biscayne
history where the demand is growing and 350 rooms each night are not available
until which time the Sonesta Beach Hotel
re-opens. At this point, the plans for the 'new' Sonesta are not
yet finalized.
Translate this information as you will,
yet if you are thinking of coming to the Key in the near future, your plans
will need
to be made further in advance than ever
before and as everyone who has ever stayed here knows,
there is no place that even comes close
to staying on Key Biscayne.
