Kite4Girls Competition North Crandon Beach 2006
North Crandon Beach was over-run by the
2006 Kite 4 Girls Competition with hundreds of kites, boards, and of
course, girls. The competition and
the course were in perfect form as a steady 15 knots of wind co-operated
throughout the competition and throughout
the day.
The chart shown on the left is the course
that each of the Competitors would complete twice, going over and around
obstacles placed in the Atlantic Ocean
by event organizers and the chart on the right are the heats, the field
narrowing
and the winners. Queen of the Beach
today is Melissa and King of the Beach is Fabion. Quite the honor.
With virtually hundreds of photographs
to post, we will be creating a Kites4Girls photogallery 2006 and it will
be available here as we can prepare the
photographs for your viewing and educational pleasure.

It has come a long way from the very first Kites for Girls Competition in 2004!
Along with the free Discovery Clinics and
Women kiteboarding exhibition that have been part of every year,
the third annual event is super-charged
with a Bordercross Event for both men and women, directed by
Neil Hutchinson of the 2005 Bahamas Crossing
fame.
