The sun sets on Key Biscayne as seen from
Bear Cut accross the flats, accross Biscayne Bay, at the head
of the entrance to the Crandon Park Marina.
The preserved Mangroves on the left hand side of
the picture border an enclosed and protected
area for native bird nesting. Ironically when President Nixon
had his 'Winter Whitehouse' compound on
Key Biscayne, and before the construction of the Presidential
Helipad, Marine One and Marine Two (The
Presidential helicopters) would land just to the left of these
mangroves in the open field that is now
closed off for a 'Tern' nesting area.
