Mashta Island Bridge
At the place where Harbor Drive almost completes its path along the waterfront homes on the western coast of Key Biscayne, one turns slightly to the right around a grand water fountain and across the bridge that marks the entrance to one of the most prestigious areas of the island paradise of Key Biscayne - Mashta Island

“Mashta”, an Egyptian name meaning “home or resting spot by the sea", was given its name by the late William J. Matheson, a familiar name in the history of this island paradise.

The small atoll of Mashta Island is connected to Key Biscayne by a bridge, recently rebuilt by the Village of Key Biscayne to encourage water flow between Hurricane Harbor and Smugglers Cove.
