You
might just lose your head over the brilliant white sand beaches of the
island paradise of Key Biscayne, Florida.
From Crandon
Park and Beach all the way to Bill
Baggs Cape Florida State Recreation Area
and the Cape Florida Lighthouse, almost six miles of sunny, sandy
beaches stretch along the east coast of Key Biscayne. |
Located
on the northeast side of Key Biscayne is Crandon
Park, ranked among the nation's top beaches.
A frequent site for model portfolio shots and moviemakers, Crandon Park
offers a public area with several recreational areas. The park includes
a lifeguarded beach, baseball field, sand volleyball courts, picnic areas,
running track, outdoor skating rink and playground area complete with a
water fountain for children to play in. In addition, the island's first
carousel has been fully restored and is available for the enjoyment of
all park visitors. |
Bill
Baggs Cape Florida State Recreation Area is home to the restored
Cape Florida lighthouse, one of the historical landmarks of Key Biscayne.
The park includes a lifeguarded beach, nature trails, picnic areas, concession
stands, and the Cape Florida lighthouse. The Lighthouse Cafe is a
great spot to grab a bite to eat - they are open also for breakfast! |
In
the heart of the Key Biscayne community is the Village Green, a
public park with a relaxing atmosphere. A 1/2 mile long path circles the
park, great for jogging, biking, roller blading, or a casual stroll. A
playground area with swings, slides, and all the extras is a great spot
for the kids to burn off some energy. |
The
Key
Biscayne Beach Club is a private, members-only entrance to the beach.
Members of the Key Biscayne Beach Club enjoy complimentary lounge chairs
and beach umbrellas, fresh water showers and bathrooms, an indoor banquet
facility with ceiling fans and let us not forget to mention the culinary
of the Key Biscayne Beach Club Beach Basket! Enjoy fresh salads,
fine cheeseburgers, and crispy french fries among other menu items.
