Cape Florida Key Biscayne Florida
Cape Florida is home to one of the best beaches in the United States with 1.2 miles of shoreline, miles of paved pedestrian/ bike paths that allows cyclists, hikers, and skaters to enjoy the historic Cape Florida lighthouse (that is open for tours), fishing along the seawall, swimming in the Atlantic Ocean and nature trails that permit people to see the diversity of native plant and wildlife communities. No camping is available except for boat camping in the harbor, and a primitive campsite is available for organized youth groups. There are four picnic areas that offer tables, barbecue grills and 18 different covered pavilions.  There are two restaurants and a concession that offers a variety of rentals including bikes, sailboats, kayaks, beach chairs, and umbrellas.  With the native subtropical habitat intact, depending on the season, you may see more than 30 species of butterfly and 170 species of bird at the park.  Rare animals such as the peregrine falcon, and American crocodile regularly take refuge at the park.  Also, each summer, Loggerhead sea turtles nest along the beach , and green turtles and Florida manatees  graze in the offshore sea grass beds.
